Auger

Auger drilling is a fast and inexpensive method utilized primarily in soft, unconsolidated formations and weak, weathered rock. Performed using a helical blade that is drilled into the ground using rotation and down pressure, earth is moved up the borehole as the blade advances. This is a preferred drilling method when depth, ground conditions and sample quality are not critical.

Boart Longyear has a variety of auger drill rigs from large CMT 75 high-torque rigs to small CMT 45's for limited access. Our rigs are capable of SPT sampling and well installation. We have truck and track mounted rigs and various sizes to meet your auger drilling needs.
